Ciara McAuley is a Data Scientist at Patreon, a platform that powers membership services for creators with established followings. The Data Science team at Patreon sits horizontally across Product, Engineering, Go-To-Market and Finance. Ciara works with the membership team to inform product decisions through data discovery, analysis and experimentation. She also partners with the Trust & Safety team to track violative content on Patreon and help inform decisions on operational capacity of the Content Moderation team.
Ciara studied Computer Science at undergraduate level in Dublin City University. She interned at Amazon for 6 months during college as a Systems Engineer Intern working on the software delivery pipeline for Amazon Retail. After completing her degree Ciara worked in Workday as a Software Engineer for over 2 years. She was part of an internal Data Engineering team extracting, transforming and loading data from the Workday application logs.
She then went on to study for a Masters Degree in Data Analytics from Dublin City University. As part of her masters she studied data from the United States High School Longitudinal Study dataset to identify features most correlated with students studying STEM in University. Ciara loves asking questions and helping people understand the answers to questions. She lives in Dublin, Ireland and is an avid outdoor enthusiast who can regularly be found on hikes in the mountains with her Golden Retriever.
